Going into the City / Landside — A visa may be needed

If you want to leave the airport, collect and re-check baggage, connect from a different airport (e.g. SAW), or stay in the city, you enter Turkey; in this case a transit e-Visa or an entry visa may be needed. For example, if one of your flights is at Istanbul Airport and the other at Sabiha Gökçen, the transfer between the two airports inevitably passes through the city and you become subject to entry rules.
